For the Record: Claudia & Nathan’s Big Day

Our planning love story started in an alleyway in Chicago - via video consultation, although I totally felt like I was there in person! There were definitely some chuckles at the start, especially as Claudia dropped Nathan off at what looked like a dark back entrance to a mysterious building, all to see one of his favorite bands. These two showed up fully as themselves, no pretense, no masks. Despite busy careers and a to-do list a mile long, they still paused to hear the music they loved. Which would kind of set the tone for months to follow.

Truthfully, I saw a lot of myself in Claudia, which made the planning process feel natural and seamless. That connection mattered even more because they were planning from out of state. Being their trusted person on the ground - connecting with the venue, managing the details, and bringing their vision to life, was incredibly important to them, and something I didn’t take lightly.

While I may still be tuned into a slightly different playlist, Claudia and Nathan are undeniably connected through music. It only felt right to weave that passion throughout their wedding day; from a record player seating chart to thoughtfully curated song selections and an incredible live band that carried the energy of the evening.

The Muskoka Foundry is such a unique space - layered with eclectic antique pieces and unexpected character throughout. It’s perfect for a couple who values experience and entertainment over perfection, and who isn’t worried about a few interesting treasures scattered here and there. What it offers instead is a large, open canvas that allows creativity to lead the way.

And just when I thought I couldn’t feel more connected to this couple, I discovered that a member of the bridal party was actually one of the very first grooms I had the privilege of planning for in my early days of All Things Love Events. Funny how life comes full circle - you really do attract your kind of people!!
